Falling In Glove: HANDsome accessories for your wedding

by Mia Bolaris-Forget (Staff Writer)

Fall and winter are the two “perfect” seasons for getting falling in love with the idea of wedding day gloves. In fact, they’re ideal for some early spring weddings as well.

But, there’s more than one type of these handy-dandy accessories, and it’s best to get a handle on the lingo beforehand.

· Fingerless Gloves: These cover only the hand, but not the finger, and usually only come up to the wrist, though they “do” vary in length.

· The Gauntlet: This sleeve-like glove runs from the elbow to the wrist, held on by a “ring-like” link which fastens around one of your fingers. It is customarily worn with sleeveless or strapless gowns.

· The Short glove: This glove goes no further than the wrist and is usually paired with an informal or semi-formal gown with cap-sleeves.

· Elbow Glove: Just like the name states, this glove rest just above or just below the elbow and is usually worn with semi-formal or formal gowns featuring a cap-sleeve.

· Opera Gloves: This glove rises to very formal occasions by rising to the upper part of the bicep and is adorned with 16 buttons.
